Permanent cosmetics or micropigmentation is classified as a body art similar to a traditional tattoo. It is a process of implanting pigment into the dermal layer of skin either manually or with a machine. Unlike traditional tattoos, permanent cosmetics should not stand out but will look like an enhanced you anytime of day and does fade over time. The effect is to achieve fuller brows, enhanced eyes and lips or to camouflage imperfections.

  • Within 24 hours before your appointment: No alcohol or any form of caffeine 24 hours prior to your appointment. Caffeine is a stimulant and will increase your sensitivity.
  • Please eat something 30 minutes before coming to the appointment. This keeps your blood sugar steady and helps you to be more comfortable and less sensitive.
  • Wash your hair the night before or the morning of your appointment because you will need to avoid your eyebrow getting wet after the microblading procedure.

  • 30 minutes after your microblading procedure, gently wipe your eyebrows in one direction with a damp cotton pad every 3 hours and then 24 hours after your procedure apply a very thin layer of ointment. For oily skin, apply the ointment once a night. For dry skin, apply the ointment once in the morning and once at night.
  • Do not let the treated area get wet: Avoid hot tubs, pools, recreational water activities, or washing the treated areas. When in the shower, do not get water directly on the face. To ensure the hair stroke lines to stay thin as possible, water, sweat and oil must be avoided on hairstroke lines or it may blur/spread the lines out.
  • Do not expose the treated area: It is important for the area of the procedure not to come in contact with sweat, animals, direct shower spray or hot water.
  • Makeup and lotions: During the healing process, keep all the makeup, lotions and exfoliating products away from the treated area.
  • During the healing process: Wear a hat or visor when in direct sunlight for a long period of time. It is important to keep the sun away from the treated area.
  • Sleeping: Avoid having your eyebrows touch the pillow. This will help ensure the area treated will not be disturbed or come in contact with anything. This is hard but try your best.
  • WARNINGS: Chlorine, exfoliation creams, and exposure to the sun will cause colors to fade faster. Failure to follow post-procedure instructions may cause loss of pigment, discoloration or infection.

  • After the semi/permanent makeup procedure, it is natural for swelling or redness to occur on sensitve skin for about an hour. All clients are able to go back to work or go out right after the procedure.
  • It is normal for the semi-permanent tattoos to lose 20-50% of the initial implanted color.  Color goes through phases and may initially appear lighter, but within 3-4 weeks more color usually appears.
  • Colors may appear darker the following day after the procedure. Pigments usually scab after 3-5 days. DO NOT pick, rub, or cleanse the area with soap or cleanser for one week. Allow the scab to flake off naturally. As the healing progresses, colors will often to it's true color.

For your semi-permanent makeup procedure, your appointment will include your initial appointment and then your touchup appointment after 4-6 weeks. Your semi-permament makeup tattoo should last around 2-3 years depending on your skin type and daily activites. We recommend clients to come back 1-1.5 year for a touch up to refresh the color and maintain the shape.

The following are a few issues that will not qualify a person for a microblading procedure:
